Oops 2 U: Something on the radio 14Jul08 | 0

I was listening to Radio Foorti on the way back from Kakoli on Thursday when I heard this song on the radio that just sounded very very familiar. I tried to figure out who it was, but in vain. Eventually I came to realize that the song sonuded like a poppy version of Tattooed Millionaire by Bruce Dickinson.

Tattooed Millionaire - Bruce Dickinson

If anyone knows what song it was, then please share. The song was in Bangla, but the chorus sounded exactly like the original English metal song.

Oops 2 U: Muthophone 10May08 | 0

Oops 2 U is going to be those sections where we find songs that is very similar to other songs. I’m not saying that these people are coping things directly. It many cases the similarity is coincidental and most like due to artist influences. Yet once in a while it is so similar that it makes you go Hmmm.

Neon Aloi Swagotom

My first victim is Shironamhin. I personally love their work. They have managed to stand out in the sea of other Bangali rockers. Unfortunately with this venture they ended up just a bit to close to another popular rock song. Can you tell which one it is?

Arnob never fails to amaze 05May08 | 0

Shayan Chowdhury Arnob is just one of those artists who refuses to disappoint you. In this latest creation, he’s managed to twist your thoughts about what Arnob can do just once more. Apart from his contemporary side, he’s managed to pack rock, rhythm, and even classical into one album.

Arnob - Doob

The following track “Akash Kalo” shows everything that even Arnob can do rock. Enjoy!

Firebrand - atypically typical 24Apr08 | 0

Back when Firebrand was coming out last year, AmaderGaan promoted the hell out of them. So much so that it left a bad taste in my mouth. Automatically shunned it to the corner not to look for it or at it again. Just like any other album that got released that month, we were poised to mention the release of the album without any reviews. But then though ‘eh, whatever’.

Firebrand

All said and done, 7 months later here I find myself humming into their tunes. Couple of their songs though very very typical has brought forth an hint of distinction. Why don’t you give them a spin?

Fuad feat. Shamima Alam Chinu 08Apr08 | 0

A lot of you may remember how back in 2003 Habib Wahid’s Krishno took the country by storm. Now some of you also know that Fuad Al-muatadir just released a new album featuring Shamima Alam Chinu.

Kemone Bhulibo

Now I don’t know about you, but I still personally prefer Habib’s old work. In fact I also prefer Fuad’s old work. But this album got me thinking. Aren’t there any other songs that could be remixed? I mean most of these songs are so popular and been mix and remixed a million times.

I guess Fuad will have an answer for us with Reflections.

[UPDATE: 2008-05-02] Fuad mentioned at PoLaPaIn.com that this album is not one of his releases. Thank YWYH!
